POST: One Way To Improve Your Stage Presence

It's always amazing when you get tickets to see a favorite artiste live on stage. But unfortunately, for the Nigeria music audience, seeing an artiste on stage holds little or no excitement. Not because they don't appreciate the artiste, but because very few of these artistes actually entertain on stage.

Most audiences are treated to a lot noise, bad lip synching, and meaningless jumping around. As an artiste, stage presence is as important as the quality of music that you make. An artiste with great stage presence not only engages his/her audience, but gives them a memorable show that will leave them wanting more. Here are some tips to help you improve your stage presence.

Invest in a large mirror and put it on the wall. When you rehearse your performance, face the mirror as if you're facing an audience. This will enable you to see your actions as a member of the audience would. From here, you can begin to analyze what aspect of your stage presence you need to …

POST: A Little Something About Public Speaking & Live Performances..

This is probably going to sound a little weird, but I want to relate your performance as an artiste to the art of public speaking. On the other hand, it might not be all that weird, considering the fact that both public speaking and music performance requires you facing an audience and making your voice heard.

If you're making a speech, you know that you have to grab the audience's attention in 30 seconds. That's where you make your biggest impact. If you ever see an artiste get up on stage and stumble on his/her introduction, you should know what I'm driving at.
As an artiste, you can always grab the audience's attention with a song. But it helps to think about other ways to captivate your audience too.

It is important to have 'Magic Moments'. Apparently, this is something that movie promoters say is essential for a film to have a successful ad campaign... that will make the movie a hit. That seems like good advice for a live performance too.

Happy Birthday Nigeria..

Yay! Nigeria is +1 today. I'm so grateful to God for how far we have come as a nation. Despite all the trials we've faced, we are still moving & making giants strides.

That's the unique thing about our nation, we always find a way to conquer any situation, no matter how terrible it might seem. God has made us a great nation & also blessed us with the attitude of champions. We don't give up easily. We might fall down so many times but we always rise up with more determination, stronger & bolder than before.

I believe in Nigeria.

Happy Birthday Nigeria.

Happy Independence Nigeria.

Happy Birthday Prince..

Happy Birthday to you bro. My prayer is that God would continually fulfill your heart desires and that your life shall be an unending stream of the miraculous.God bless you

POST: Voice Training

One of the most diverse muscles in our bodies is the tongue. This amazing tool not only helps you talk, but also helps you properly sing. When you sing, it is important that your tongue rest in specific areas as certain notes or scales are attempted. The tip of the tongue is the easiest to control, but is not what is used the most in singing. When you sing, the tip of your tongue should be lightly pressed against the back of the lower teeth.

This will ensure that it doesn't get in the way, or hinder the middle, sides, or back of the tongue when attempting certain notes. The back of the tongue, probably one of the hardest areas to control, should be the section that is relaxed. Once you get used to keeping the tip of your tongue lightly pressed against the back of your teeth, this should be easier to do. You can even put the tip a little lower if you feel it's in the way or becomes irritated. So, the back of the tongue should be relaxed, yet ready for use. You should be able to …

POST: Voice Management Tips

It's not fun when your voice becomes strained halfway through the rehearsal. Croaking like a toad is always a sign that your vocal chords have been overworked and need a rest.
This happens to most singers - it's an unfortunate truth. But there are ways to avoid it, and if you already have a sore throat, you can recover fast and be ready to take on the next performance with the right measures. When it comes to singing, you are the instrument, an instrument that, like many others, needs to be finely tuned and cared for.

Not only is taking care of your voice important for the upcoming concert on the schedule, but you also need to think about the future of your chorus career. If this is a serious profession that you want to pursue later on in life or you are currently a professional musician, you need to invest in the health and longevity of your vocal chords. You owe it to your fellow singers to stay healthy and ready to perform. All in all, don't let a strained vocal chord hol…
